Description

The AR Food Menu Workshop introduces participants to the concept of using augmented reality technology to enhance the dining experience. Participants will learn how to build a custom AR food menu application using the Vuforia AR platform and the Unity game engine. Through hands-on activities, participants will understand the integration of hardware, software, and 3D design principles to create an immersive AR menu experience.

Learning Outcomes

On completion of the workshop, learners are expected to be able to:

  1. Understand the fundamental principles of augmented reality technology, including image tracking, virtual object placement, and user interaction.
  2. Gain practical experience in setting up the Vuforia AR development environment within the Unity game engine.
  3. Develop problem-solving and critical-thinking skills through troubleshooting and debugging activities during the setup, configuration, and optimization of the AR food menu project.
  4. Demonstrate the ability to design and implement interactive 3D menu items, including the placement of virtual food models, application of textures and materials, and scripting of basic user interactions.
  1. Explore techniques for optimizing AR performance and ensuring a seamless user experience, taking into account device constraints and best practices.
    Connect the AR food menu application to a mobile device and test the experience on a real-world AR platform
